Shimmy Shakin' Blues Dance Party

Our next blues dance party will be with live music from TBA!  GENERAL EVENT VENUE CHANGE: We currently no longer run our event at the Pearl/Mercury Cafe. This will be our FIRST SSB event at La Rumba!!!!!!!! <3  PARKING: There is a huge FREE parking lot on the corner of 9th and Broadway for the venue- otherwise, parking is free at any meter after 6pm in the surrounding streets. VENUE-SPECIFIC INFORMATION: 21+ venue: Please be sure to bring your ID to be checked at the door. Bar: We will have a drink special every month, in addition to having a full open bar. Please tip your bartender! Enforced dress code: Please do not wear baseball caps or flip flop sandals. Water: No water bottles or outside beverages admitted into the venue. Water will be for sale for $2/bottle in the space (this is how this venue has stayed open so long ONLY serving dancers since 1998. Please continue to help to keep this venue open by supporting them in this way as well! <3) Fun fact: La Rumba originally opened at "9th Avenue West" as a swing and blues dance club back in the day, and has since become a solely-Latin dance space in the meantime. We are literally bringing the blues back home where it once belonged!!! <3 Doors open at 6:30pm. Free street parking or adjacent lots starting at only $4. There will be a beginner-friendly blues dance lesson from 7-8pm. A dance party with live music from the band and DJ'ed band breaks will follow from 8-12.   7-8pm: All levels blues dance class 8:30-11:30: Live blues band!   Admission: $15- class only ($10 student discount with ID) $20- dance only ($15 student discount with ID) $35- class and dance ($25 student discount with ID)   The dance is indoors, NO RESTRICTIONS: vaccine and mask optional.
