About this calendar
A community paper for Denver dancers.
Denver Dances is a community calendar of social dance happening across metro Denver — Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Blues, Country, Ballroom, Salsa, and everything in between. Events come from a shared Google Doc maintained by Denver dancers, parsed into a tidy database, and refreshed on a regular schedule. The site is open to anyone, free to use, and built for finding your next dance fast.
Filtering, search, day-grouped lists, month and week views — they're all here so you can answer "what's happening tonight?", "any blues this weekend?", or "what's at Mercury Cafe next month?" in a couple of taps.
Down the road, organizers, venues, and bands will be able to claim their listings and post their own events directly. For now, if you see something missing or wrong, drop us a line.
A guide to the styles
What to expect on the floor.
Swing era partner dance, bouncy 8-count rhythm, live big-band energy.
Smooth, slotted, improvised — danced to contemporary R&B, pop and blues.
Close embrace, slow groove, lights-low rooms with a heavy backbeat.
Two-step, line dance and country swing — wood floors and pearl snaps.
Waltz, foxtrot, tango, quickstep — frame, posture and long lines.
Cuban and LA-style, fast rhythms, social rotation, conga and clave.
Argentine tango — the embrace, the milonga, the cabeceo.
Caller-led folk dance in lines, beginner-friendly, live string bands.
